It didn't take long for the Johnny Football hype-train to take the NFL by storm. Since his selection in the first-round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, Manziel has been the talk of the league. It's obvious, everyone wants to know whether the enigmatic young man's talent will translate to the pros. In the midst of the media chaos, however, has been a slew of exaggerations and overreactions regarding Manziel; here are the top five.

There is a noticeable buzz surrounding professional sports in the city of Cleveland, OH. That, of course, is a completely rational response to the fact that in 2014, the Browns drafted Johnny Manziel and the Cleveland Cavaliers brought LeBron James back via NBA free agency. The ridiculous part, however, is to think that Johnny Football had ANYTHING to do with the King's homecoming. This is sheer coincidence; enjoy it, Cleveland.

Most reports from Browns Training Camp regarding Johnny Manziel is how he needs to improve as a "pocket passer." Of course this was to be expected, given how the majority of Manziel's college highlights came on scramble plays or designed QB runs. Yet, Browns fans shouldn't be too nervous, Johnny will inevitably be Johnny. However, he needs to crawl before he walks in his new big boy pants. After all, this isn't A&M, it's the NFL.

With Brian Hoyer and Johnny Manziel currently in an "open competition" for the starting QB job, it's natural to see players throwing their support behind one player or the other. After all, some teammates believe Manziel gives them the best chance to win, while others believe Hoyer does. Yet, regardless of each players' opinion, an open competition does not equal a locker room rift. Unfortunately, the media tends to sensationalize these things.

2. He's Not As Good As Brian Hoyer

Some people are of the opinion that Johnny Manziel is ready to start for the Browns immediately. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like many of those people are employed by the Browns' coaching staff. At the moment, it appears veteran Brian Hoyer has the upper-hand in the QB competition and will likely be the Week 1 starter. However, that doesn't mean Hoyer is the better QB. It just means he is more familiar with the system at the moment.

The single biggest overreaction to Manziel's young career to this point has been the incredible misconception that he isn't taking his job seriously. Sure, the guy has been seen fraternizing with celebrities at night clubs, as well as sitting courtside with a mix of gorgeous women and some of the biggest names in professional sports, but to say he isn't working hard is a joke. You aren't just born with Manziel's talent, it does take some work.
