Head coach Lovie Smith was hired to turn around the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And anytime a new head coach is brought in the roster is bound to undergo at least a few changes. With that in mind, let's take a look at five Buccaneers players on the roster bubble during training camp.

Keith Tandy played well as the third safety last season, but the Buccaneers went out and signed former Chicago Bears' safety Major Wright this offseason for added depth behind starters Mark Barron and Dashon Goldson. With Wright, who was a starter for head coach Lovie Smith in Chicago, likely locked in as one of the backups, Tandy will have to hold off Bradley McDougald and Kelcie McCray.

Former first-round pick Doug Martin is healthy again and will be the starter. The team also invested a second round pick in former West Virginia star Charles Sims. That leaves one or two spots for Mike James, Bobby Rainey and Jeff Demps. Rainey led the team in rushing last season and Demps is a speedster with return ability, which means James is firmly on the bubble.

3. Luke Stocker, TE

The Buccaneers addressed the tight end position in a big way this offseason. The team spent a second-round pick on Austin Seferian-Jenkins and signed Brandon Myers in free agency. Tim Wright provides the team with a talented receiving option at the position. Luke Stocker does not have enough value as a dedicated blocking tight end, which makes him a candidate for the bubble.

2. Jeff Demps, RB

After ending each of his first two seasons on injured reserve, this is a make or break year for the former Florida Gators running back. However, Jeff Demps is currently listed as the fifth running back behind Doug Martin, Bobby Rainey, Charles Sims and Mike James. Demps' speed and ability as a kickoff returner are his best traits, but it may not be enough to keep him off the bubble.

1. Da'Quan Bowers, DE

The former second round pick has had a disappointing career to date, recording just 5.5 sacks in three seasons. Working in Da'Quan Bowers' favor is his ability to kick inside as a defensive tackle on passing downs, but that may not be enough to keep him on the roster.
