Fans of the Denver Broncos caught a glimpse of what would be the future after Peyton Manning and it could be said that they liked what they saw.
Behind Manning on the Broncos depth chart is Brock Osweiler, who is entering his third year in the league. He may not get a whole lot of playing time but he sure did show what a bright future he has in Denver with his solid performance on Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks. While his stats were not great, as he only completed 50 percent of his passes and threw what could have been a costly turnover, he did what needed to be done in order to win the football game. He led the team down the field after throwing his interception and completed a pass to Jordan Norwood for what would be the game-winning touchdown. The stats may not be pretty, but he did what most good quarterbacks do, complete the comeback.
I believe that the future will be bright once Manning decides to hang up the cleats for good. I did mention before that I think Osweiler could become the next Aaron Rodgers. That may sound a bit far-fetched for people to believe, but I think Osweiler has the talent to become a great quarterback in this league. It may take some time for it to develop but there is no doubt that he will become successful.
With his performance, I would not be surprised to see more of Osweiler in the next contest against the San Francisco 49ers just to see what we else he can bring to the franchise once Manning retires. Rest assured that all eyes will be on him for the next few weeks until the regular season begins. But from what I saw, I am excited for the future.
