It's natural for a sports fan to hate their favorite team's arch nemesis. However, some franchises are nearly hated by everyone outside their fanbase nationally for one reason or another. Here's a look at the power rankings for the ten most hateable NFL franchises of 2014.

Most teams that appear on the "Hard Knocks" reality show do not end up being liked very much by the time it ends, and the Falcons will be no different. Matt Ryan's inability to get the team to a Super Bowl is a criticism that follows the team around nationally as well.

The Raiders have been perennial losers for a decade now. They play in a dilapidated stadium that should be torn down, and their fans dress up to look like maniacs. Need I say more?

8. New York Giants

Fans seem to like hating on the Giants when they're good and love it when they're bad. Eli Manning's 'aw-shucks' attitude makes him a sitting target. New York will always have its haters no matter who is on the team.

7. Detroit Lions

Ndamukong Suh's history of dirty play on the field makes the Lions an easy team to hate. New head coach Jim Caldwell can hopefully do wonders for Detroit's poor reputation nationally.

Thinking of how high everyone was on RG3 during his rookie season, it's pretty amazing how quickly he fell from grace after an injury and ineffective play in 2013. Griffin always seems to deflect blame away from himself when things aren't going well, which makes him easily dislikeable.

Only 49ers fans like head coach Jim Harbaugh's animated coaching style. Harbaugh comes off as arrogant at times and makes the franchise easy to root against.

4. New England Patriots

The Brady and Belichick duo draws a ton of hate nationally. Whether it be for the Spygate scandal or Belichick's incredibly dull press conferences, New England undeniably makes itself an unlikeable franchise.

3. Seattle Seahawks

The reigning Super Bowl champions are always going to end up high on a list like this, but in Seattle, Richard Sherman and others on the team sound off publicly so often that they probably deserve this spot regardless of the ring they won last season.

2. Dallas Cowboys

Jerry Jones is a perfect example of why most people despise rich billionaires -- especially in sports. He has run the team's talent into the ground since he insists on having a role in player personnel. Dallas would be hated anyway, but Jones makes it a lot more fun.

Rex Ryan is a chatterbox and full of braggadocio again heading into the 2014 season. Rex has proclaimed the Jets "Super Bowl favorites" at least a hundred times since he arrived in New York, but he has yet to come through. Recently, second-year cornerback Dee Milliner declared himself the "best in the league" at the position, which sounds like something Ryan probably told him. Ryan is a great coach, but he needs to relax.
