Another week of practices have begun for the Denver Broncos as they prepare for their showdown with the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon. Last Thursday was a chance for the coaching staff to see how their players would perform in an exhibition game. Most did not disappoint, but there were a few that did and are now in danger of being cut from the roster.

Here are five Broncos players that are on the roster bubble heading into Week 2.

Don't get me wrong, Brennan Clay is a solid running back. He is simply on this list because Juwan Thompson and Kapri Bibbs performed better than him in the first preseason game. With how crowded a backfield the Broncos have, Clay is going to have to perform at a higher level in the next few weeks if he wants to find a spot on the roster.

Isaiah Burse was the fan favorite to perform the returning duties for the team heading into training camp. He has underperformed, however, and we have yet to see his flashy style of play. With Jordan Norwood performing well as a receiver, Burse better get himself together or we won't see the UDFA's name on the final roster.

3. Omar Bolden, FS

Omar Bolden is on this list because of the performance of Rahim Moore, who is coming back from an injury that could have ended his career. Moore is stronger and performed well so far. In fact, he was listed No. 1 on the depth chart when the first ones came out. Bolden is either going to have to step up or hope he can perform well on special teams.

2. Duke Ihenacho, SS

The arrival of T.J. Ward and the performance of Quinton Carter has Duke Ihenacho on this list. We all knew with Ward signing this offseason that Ihenacho would no longer be the starting safety. His only hope of getting off the bubble and securing a roster spot is beating out John Boyett. However, even if he does that, there might not be any guarantee.

1. Tony Carter, CB

Tony Carter has had a history of drawing penalties on the defensive side of the football. While the Broncos might admire his efforts, the team is moving towards using their physical play to change the tide of a game, not to help out the opponent. With Aqib Talib signing with the team and Chris Harris close to one hundred percent, along with talent at the corner position, there is a good chance Carter will be playing his last days in Denver.
