The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are an intriguing team heading into 2014. They have much to prove after struggling mightily in 2013. That will start obviously, with several players stepping up their play. The following five players did exactly that in Week 2 of the preseason. Read on to find out who they were.

WR/KR Solomon Patton showed his explosiveness as a kick returner in preseason Week 2. He had three returns for 91 yards, a 30.3 yard average. Despite not offering much offensively, (just one catch for eight yards) he could challenge guys like Jeff Demps, Mike James and Bobby Rainey for kick and/or punt return opportunities this season.

Mike Evans had a standout game in Week 2 of the preseason. He caught two passes for 52 yards, including an impressive 41-yard grab. He almost had a touchdown in the game as well. He was inches from the pylon, only to be stripped by Brent Grimes for a touchback. Nonetheless, he will be the clear No. 2 WR in TB behind Vincent Jackson when the regular season starts.

Dane Fletcher also had a standout game in Week 2. He was all over the ball in the game, leading the team in tackles with five. He is locked in a battle with Mason Foster for a starting gig as an inside linebacker this season, but he more than likely will have to contribute on special teams.

2. Josh McCown
