Another week of practices continue for the Detroit Lions as they prepare for their showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday night in Week 3 of the preseason. Last Friday, the Lions played sloppy football and lost 27-26 to the Oakland Raiders. Some Lions players, however, still need a lot to improve on if they want to make the final 53-man roster.

Here now are five Lions players that are on the roster bubble heading into Week 2.

In the heated competition to fill out the final receiver positions, second-year player Corey Fuller is still at the bottom of the list. Competing with the likes of Ryan Broyles, Jeremy Ross, Kris Durham and Kevin Ogletree, Fuller has had minimal impact on the field despite showing significant progress in training camp. The former Virginia Tech player has only made two catches for 36 yards and scored one touchdown in two games.

A converted tight end, second-year player Michael Williams has made significant progress as he has transitioned to the offensive line, but he still has plenty to prove if he wants to earn a roster spot. With the emergence of Cornelius Lucas at tackle and teams reluctant to carry more than eight or nine offensive linemen on a roster, Williams has to turn it on this week if he wants to prove why he belongs.

3. WR TJ Jones

A sixth-round pick in this year's draft, former Notre Dame receiver TJ Jones has not been able to get into a groove this offseason, as he has been sidelined after having arthroscopic on his right shoulder in June. Jones has been primarily a spectator in camp, as he is currently the only player remaining on the PUP list. If Jones can't get on the field quickly, he could be the first 2014 rookie to not make the team.

2. RB Steven Miller

A longshot to even make the roster before training camp, running back Steven Miller is still in an uphill battle to even earn a roster spot. As a return man, Miller has been less than impressive, averaging 17 yards per return and fumbling once. As a running back, Miller has ran for -1 yard on six carries. With plenty of other backs making a good impression this preseason, Miller has not been able to make the most of his opportunities.

Jonte Green has struggled all preseason long in pass defense and that was clearly defined against the Raiders. Late in the game, Green was picked on relentlessly by Raiders quarterback Matt McGloin. In Green's 17 total plays in coverage, 11 throws went to the receiver Green was covering. On the final drive, Green allowed the most yards as the Raiders scored a game-winning touchdown with just six seconds remaining.
