The third week of the preseason is the game where the starters are going to get the most playing time. Indianapolis Colts fans should expect the starters to play roughly a half on both sides of the ball. The Colts' first teams have looked great so far in the preseason, but they are going to get a good test against the New Orleans Saints. Here are five players to keep an eye on during the game.

Arthur Jones was brought in to improve the run defense and he has done a great job, along with Josh Chapman. The Saints have a great interior offensive line and Mark Ingram has run well during the preseason. This is a good test for the defensive line and the run defense. If the Colts' defensive line can stop the run against the Saints, that should be a good sign going into the season.

Dwayne Allen is one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL, and the Saints love to blitz on defense. His presence should mean better protection for Andrew Luck. Having Allen in the lineup means that the Colts can use a lighter personal while not giving up anything in protection. Also, it is going to be interesting to see what his impact could be in the passing game.

Jerrell Freeman is in his third year as the Colts' starting linebacker and he excels when he is asked to play in space and in coverage. Freeman is going to be facing a big test this week when he is going to be asked to cover Jimmy Graham. That is going to be an interesting matchup within the game.

2. Vontae Davis

Vontae Davis signed a big contract in the offseason, and his job is to be the best defensive back on the Colts' roster. Drew Brees is expected to play this week for the first time all preseason, and he is going to be a challenge for Davis. Colts fans should pay attention to where Davis is on the field and if he can take away Brees' No. 1 option consistently.

Andrew Luck is going to be facing a Saints team that is very exotic and aggressive with their blitz packages. Luck is going to have to make adjustments at the line of scrimmage to put his offense in the best position possible. I have no doubt that he is able to do that, and showing that he can lead his offense against a defense that is expected to be very good this year should be a great sign for Colts fans this year.
