The Dallas Cowboys have a ton of talent on the offensive side of the ball, but this year's defense might be worse than last year's. That being said, the Cowboys will likely be in a ton of shootouts in the 2014 season. Dallas' schedule in 2014 is difficult, as they are playing the NFC West, which is arguably the best division in the NFL. These five games will define the Cowboys' 2014 season.

The Cowboys will get the test of playing the NFL's best team in October when they play the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. The Cowboys will most likely lose this game, as they will be playing in the toughest stadium in the NFL, but this will be a great experienced for the Cowboys' youngsters.

Last year, the Cowboys went 5-1 against their division rivals. In their first matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cowboys made Nick Foles looked lost. In their Week 17 win-or-go-home matchup against the Eagles, the Cowboys played well, but they did not have Tony Romo, and that was ultimately the reason why they lost. Judging by how the Cowboys have played over the past few years, this game will be extremely important.

This game will be an important one because it is a divisional game, but it is also a must-win because Dallas will be coming off a bye week. The Cowboys usually play well coming off the bye, so the team should benefit by having some fresher legs before playing the New York Giants on a cold November night.

The Cowboys' first game will be against the San Francisco 49ers and this one has the makings of the game of the week. Both teams have had a rivalry over the years and both will be fighting for a win out of the gate. Colin Kaepernick is extremely dangerous and it will be interesting to see how the Cowboys' new defense performs against a read-option quarterback.

Cowboy fans have watched the same movie three years in a row now. The Cowboys have now had three win-or-go-home matchups in the past three years and they have lost all three. While the Washington Redskins may not be gunning for the divisional championship, they would love to be spoilers and keep the Cowboys out of the playoffs. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this was a must-win game sometime down the road.
