New York Giants Preseason 2014: Players To Watch In Week 3

The New York Giants head into Week 3 of the preseason with a 2-0 record, but they need a better performance from their first-team offense. Despite the win against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2, the Giants didn't play well when their starters were on the field. The Giants play against the Jets on Friday night and their starters need to be in regular season form as Week 1 slowly approaches.

Beatty will play in his second preseason game against the Jets as he works back to full-health after breaking his right leg in December. He is a crucial part of the Giants' offensive line and they need him to stay healthy, but play well in Week 3. Following the 2012 season, Beatty was crowned as one of the best left tackles in the NFC and the Giants need him to be all that and more this season if they want to improve.

There is a lot of pressure on the young wide receiver to step up and claim the No. 2 spot on the depth chart, but he's yet to impress. Head coach Tom Coughlin wasn't quick to pencil him in as a starting receiver, especially after the emergence of WR Corey Washington. The pressure is on Jernigan to one-up Washington, the preseason breakout, and prove he can carry over his play from late December to 2014.

Robinson, the top guy on the Giants' TE depth chart entering the preseason, had a solid showing late in the Giants' Week 2 victory. He made two nice, back-to-back plays on the Giants' game-winning drive with a fourth-and-16 catch for a first down and a 33-yard haul to set up the team in the Colts' red zone. Let's see if Robinson can keep the ball rolling in Week 3 and if his last game was a sign of things to come.

JPP heads into Week 3 of the preseason with zero sacks to his name. The Giants lost Justin Tuck in the offseason so now there is a lot of pressure for their top defensive end to produce. If the Giants can't get to the quarterback, it spells trouble for their secondary, so a solid pass rush is crucial to the team's success. I expect the Giants' D-Line to step up this week and get after Jets' Geno Smith early and often.

Last week Manning made Giants fans cringe during his time with the first-team offense. He went 1-of-7 for six yards, and it was the type of performance that Manning hopes to sweep under the rug and forget about. Luckily for Manning, he gets to face a depleted Jets secondary and should find a great deal of success in Week 3. Manning will right the ship soon, so I wouldn't worry just yet.

Eli Manning Has Interesting Reaction To Broncos' Super Bowl Win

Eli Manning was captured on video making an interesting face when the Denver Broncos cemented their Super Bowl 50 win. The Internet firmly believes Eli is upset that Peyton now has two rings just like he does, but this is simply an overreaction. Eli was clearly nervous throughout the game, and his odd facial expressions are more indicative of a sign of relief than anything else.
