The Green Bay Packers are among the upper echelon of teams in the NFL, but they have a five-game stretch in middle of their season that will prove to be crucial. Every year, there are games that define a team's season, and here are the five that will determine the fate of 2014 for the Packers.

It's always fun to watch these two offenses meet, but with it being in New Orleans at the Superdome, the Packers will enter this game as underdogs. It's the beginning of the aforementioned five-game stretch that will be vitally important to the Packers' season.

For all we know, this could be a Super Bowl preview. It's a matchup between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, two of the very best signal-callers in today's game, and the last time they played each other was Matt Flynn's coming out party. Although the Packers are in the NFC, it should be interesting to see how they stack up against the best of the AFC.

We often see team's playoff hopes come down to the final week of the season, especially when they involve division rivals. That's why the Week 17 matchup against the Lions is extremely important for both teams. The Lions are an improved team, and they could be in the mix for the division crown at the point. Since I expect the Packers to be there as well, this game has serious playoff implications.

It's important for the Packers to get off to a good start this season, especially in an improved NFC and NFC North, and there is no more difficult team to play against than the Seahawks in Seattle. The Packers need to show an improvement on defense and on the offensive line, and there is no better way to figure that out than against the reigning Super Bowl champs and the most physical team in the league.

This list wouldn't be complete without a Packers/Bears matchup. These two teams will probably be vying for the NFC North crown once again this year, and unlike past seasons, their Week 10 matchup will be their last one of the season. With that said, it's big for the Packers to come away with a victory here, because tiebreakers are vitally important as previous seasons have shown.
