The San Francisco 49ers sent eight players to the Pro Bowl last season. A disappointing loss in the NFC Championship Game to the rival Seattle Seahawks will be motivating them in 2014. This season there are many returning faces for one of the better teams in the NFL, so they should be well represented when it is time to send players to Hawaii.
The young 49ers QB was given a large contract in the offseason that netted him /6 million dollars, and he will now have to play up to that level. In his first two years starting, Kaepernick has taken his team to the Super Bowl and the NFC Championship. He has lost in both of those games, but is one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL.
Easily one of the best offensive linemen in the league, Staley has been a staple at LT for the 49ers. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl in the past three seasons, and to expect anything different in 2014 would be silly. Staley will lead the 49ers line, as they will look towards heading back to the playoffs.
Smith might be starting to get up there in age, but the 34-year-old still has a lot of good football in him. He has made the Pro Bowl the past five seasons, and was one of the main reasons for the defensive turn around that the 49ers had a few seasons ago that turned them into one of the best defensives in football.
Willis has been an absolute beast since entering the NFL in 2007, making the Pro Bowl every season in his career. He is one of, if not the best, linebacker in football, and is the anchor of the 49ers defense. The team has plenty of talented linebackers, and last season showed that, as Willis wasn't the only LB from the 49ers sent to the Pro Bowl. Willis should be a lock for his eighth Pro Bowl this season barring an injury.
Davis is one of the top five tight ends in football, and a favorite target of Kaepernick. In 2013, Davis had one of his best seasons with 52 catches, 850 yards receiving, and 13 touchdowns. Davis made the Pro Bowl last season and should have no problem making it for the second straight year in 2014.
