The Denver Broncos' road to returning to the Super Bowl will not be an easy one this time around. With their division getting better and going up against the strong NFC West, 2014 will not be a walk in the park. But I believe Peyton Manning and company will get the job done.

Here are five games on the schedule that will define the team's season in 2014.

Recent history has shown that the Broncos have a tough time against the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Add on that it will be a Sunday Night game in primetime and it puts even more pressure on them. They have won the last three years at Arrowhead and will look to make it a fourth in what could be a crucial division game.

These two teams will square off once again in the regular season, this time in the Mile High City in primetime. The Broncos thrashed the 49ers 34-0 just this past Sunday. Granted it was only the preseason, but it gives an early indication on how these two teams stack up. It will be a lot closer than the preseason game, but this game will show if the Broncos can hang with the best the NFC has to offer.

The famous Brady vs. Manning matchup makes this list in due part to the mid-season importance of this contest. The Broncos are looking to steal a game in Foxboro if they want any chance at becoming the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC. If the Broncos want any chance to see the Patriots in the playoffs at home, this will be a crucial game.

This game can be the deciding one for the AFC West division as the Broncos and Chargers square off. This team gave the Broncos three strong showings last year and are emerging very fast. The AFC West and home field for at least one playoff game will be decided here, so it's safe to say that this game is very important.

The Super Bowl rematch takes center stage early on in the season. It will once again be the high-powered Broncos offense against the Legion of Boom defense. Having this contest early on for the Broncos will allow us to see if they can set the tone for the rest of the season. If they can win in Seattle, the Broncos will have all the confidence in the world throughout the rest of the season in their quest to win the big game.
