The Indianapolis Colts have a great schedule this year filled with a lot of marquee matchups. This is the year the Colts are planning on taking the next step and making a run at the Super Bowl. Wins against these five teams will go a long way in proving they are ready to take the next step.

This is the first time that Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck are going to face each other in the regular season. The two quarterbacks are forever going to be linked to each other and its clear now that Luck is the better quarterback. A win against the Redskins will go a long way in quieting the rest of the critics that think otherwise.

This is the first time that Jadeveon Clowney is going to be facing Andrew Luck and to top everything off it’s a prime time game. The Texans are the one team that could knock the Colts off the top of the AFC South. But a win here could show the rest of the division that the Colts are still the team to beat in the AFC South.

Chip Kelly and his fast paced offense is coming to Indianapolis on Monday Night Football. Last year Luck and the Colts didn’t play well on the Monday Night stage but he could redeem himself against the Eagles. They are in for a tough battle, the Eagles won the AFC East last year and slowing down Lesean McCoy is going to be tough. Not to mention Robert Mathis is going to be missing too.

The Patriots are the team that knocked the Colts out of the playoffs last year and the Colts are going to be looking for payback. The Patriots are one of the top teams in the AFC, and now that they have a roster that is healthy, that is going to make them more dangerous. Luck is going to have to face Darrell Revis for the first time in his career and a win against the Patriots will show that the Colts are Super Bowl contenders.

There is no better start to the NFL season than when the Colts travel to Denver to play Peyton Manning and the Broncos. Last year they were able to beat Denver, but this is a new team. The defense has improved with the additions of Demarcus Ware and Aqib Talib. A win against the Broncos to open the season could set the tempo for the rest of the year.
