NFL Preseason 2014: 5 Bold Predictions For Texans vs. Broncos

The Houston Texans are a rebuilding team that is doing significantly better on the defensive side of the football. However, they do have questions regarding their quarterback. The Denver Broncos are looking to use the Super Bowl loss as motivation, and it has seemed to work on both sides of the ball, outscoring their opponents 55-16 in two preseason contests.

Here are five bold predictions for this Saturday's matchup.

5. Jadeveon Clowney Will Record At Least Two Sacks

The No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft has done quite well this preseason as far as stopping the run. Clowney has said that he wants to be able to take down Peyton Manning, and I believe he will be able to do that at least twice. His success this year could be the difference for the team during the regular season.

4. Bradley Roby Will Record His First NFL Interception

With Chris Harris still recovering from a partially torn ACL, Bradley Roby will probably start the game and play for at the most an entire half. With how well in coverage he does, especially since the Texans starting quarterback will be Ryan Fitzpatrick, I believe this will be the game where Roby gets his first interception.

3. Ryan Fitzpatrick Will Struggle

It almost does not seem fair that Fitzpatrick is going up against one of the most revamped defenses. He did do well in the last preseason game, but he can be inconsistent. Look for Fitzpatrick to be harassed by the pass rush led by Demarcus Ware. He might have some bright spots, but he won't do well overall.

2. Isaiah Burse Will Have A Breakout Game

With Jordan Norwood missing the remainder of the season due to an ACL injury, Isaiah Burse will have the ultimate opportunity to make a huge impression for the Broncos. Look for him to return either a punt or kickoff for a touchdown, and to make his case as a receiver.

1. Juwan Thompson Will Have More Carries Than Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson

The biggest surprise from the Broncos' camp has been the play of UDFA Juwan Thompson. He has been blowing past defenders during his runs and extending the play. It will be interesting if the Broncos put him in with the first team for a few plays and see what he can bring to the table. He should make the roster, but we need to see what he is capable of against the best.
