With the Detroit Lions 13-12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in their dress rehearsal for the regular season, they move to 2-1 in the preseason. However, their preseason record still doesn't matter to this point. What's more important is how the team played and who made some noise to start the season in two weeks. These five Lions players stood out the most at Ford Field on Friday night.

Orlovsky made a great case as to why he's the backup quarterback ahead of Kellen Moore. Orlovsky played solid football, completing 9 of 11 passes for 74 yards.

George Johnson not only secured a roster spot after last night, but he's making a good case to be a starter this season. Johnson was making plays all night and even saw time with the first team defense. He finished with three combined tackles and one sack.

After struggling to get anything going this preseason, Reggie Bush stepped it up last night. His 86-yard touchdown run in the first quarter showed that he has the burst to score from anywhere on the field. Bush finished with 95 yards on two carries, but also had a big gain called back after Brandon Pettigrew was called for holding.

A surprise starter last night, Tahir Whitehead made the most of his opportunity at the Sam linebacker position. Whitehead, who has mostly been a special teams player in his time with the Lions, made 10 tackles last night and recorded three sacks. All of his 10 tackles were unassisted.
