Much was expected from the St. Louis Rams this season. This was the year in which the defense finally became one of the most dominate in the league, and Sam Bradford finally proved that he can be an elite level quarterback.

Well, so much for the latter.

Bradford’s injury woes continued on Saturday when he limped to the locker in room in the Rams preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. This is not a good sign for Rams fans, who remember far too well when Bradford tore his ACL last year, which sent the Rams’ season down the tubes.

Rams fans could be staring down a similar scenario if Bradford is forced out of the first few weeks of the season. I picked the Rams as one of the dark horses in the NFC. Their defense is one of the most talented in the NFL, and their offense is up and coming.

But the key to the Rams offense is Bradford, and his health issues have really killed off any momentum that the Rams were trying to re-establish. If Bradford is forced to sit, then St. Louis may turn its hopes to Shaun Hill, and Rams fans are not really hoping for that scenario.

I really do hope that the MRI comes back negative. I have been really high on Bradford for a long time, despite his injury problems. But if Bradford is out again, we may have to consider if Bradford will ever live up to his draft status.
