The Detroit Lions won another close 13-12 game this preseason, and this time it was against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While most Lions players had a solid outing, some players turned in less-than-impressive efforts. Here are the five Detroit Lions players who were disappointments last Friday night, and who need to improve before their regular season debut against the New York Giants.

For the second consecutive preseason game, Joseph Fauria failed to record a single catch. Both of Detroit's tight ends from a season ago, Fauria and Brandon Pettigrew, have combined for just three receptions for 12 yards while third-string rookie tight end Eric Ebron has recorded five catches for 65 yards in three games.

Giorgio Tavecchio has not had many chances to show off his leg on field goal attempts, but he missed a crucial one Friday that could very well decide his fate with the Lions. In the fourth quarter, Tavecchio missed a 51-yarder wide right, which could have given Detroit a four-point lead with seconds remaining.

Late in the third quarter with Jacksonville in the red zone, Blake Bortles threw a simple pass to rookie Allen Hurns. Chris Greenwood, the defender covering Hurns, missed an easy tackle around the goal line, allowing Hurns to score. With Greenwood on the bubble, that bad play won't help his cause as the roster are trimmed down this week.

2. RB Mikel Leshoure

Mikel Leshoure did finish as the Lions' second-leading rusher with 44 yards on eight carries, but his inability to hold on to the ball cost him big-time. With the Lions in the red zone, Leshoure fumbled after a three-yard carry with the Jaguars recovering the ball. Coughing up the ball around the end zone is never acceptable for any running back.

After looking sharp in limited action in his first two preseason games, Matthew Stafford had a rough outing. Although he completed 10-of-16 passes, it was for only 98 yards, and he made some very poor decisions. Stafford was nearly intercepted on his first throw of the game. Later on, he locked onto Calvin Johnson running a post/corner route and never recognized Andre Branch dropping into coverage. Branch made an easy interception.
