5 QBs St. Louis Rams Should Trade for Following Sam Bradford Injury

The St. Louis Rams and Sam Bradford can't catch a break as he's now re-torn his left ACL, and could be done for good. After a season led by Kellen Clemens, do the Rams -- a team on the rise -- really want to sit through another year with a career backup in Shaun Hill? I don't see it happening, so here are five QBs Jeff Fisher and company should consider trading for.

Ponder has proven to not be that great of a quarterback, but he'd come cheaply and would at least provide Hill with a somewhat competent bit of competition. Would he save their season? No. But he'd at least provide another option this year before they find a new QB next offseason.

4. Terrelle Pryor

This one would really be taking a chance, but there's no denying the talent of Pryor. With the right head coach, could he start to unleash some of that potential on a solid offense with a good offensive line and running game? Perhaps. And the best part is, like Ponder, he wouldn't take much to acquire and take a chance on.

3. Mike Glennon

It was obvious the Bucs weren't sold on Glennon when they signed Josh McCown to a two-year deal in which he'll surely be the starter, especially with Lovie Smith at the helm. However, Glennon could become a solid signal caller in his career, and could flourish with the Rams.

2. Ryan Mallet

Mallet has shown glimpses of being a very good quarterback and might have a higher ceiling than Glennon. He might also be easier to acquire than the Buccaneer as well because of the Patriots drafting Jimmy Garoppolo in the second round of this year's draft. Odds are they think highly enough of the rookie to move Mallet, and the Rams would be wise to swoop in on him.

While trading for Mallet is probably the most likely scenario to happen -- and for good reason -- getting Cousins is probably the best bet for the Rams if they were to find their future QB right now, and not in the draft next year. He's probably the best backup in the entire league and the only reason he isn't getting a starting shot is because Robert Griffin III is one of those "once in a generation" type players. The Rams could change that.
