Who in a million years would have thought we would see Michael Vick playing against the team that gave him another shot at playing football? Well, that’s what will unfold when the New York Jets play against the Philadelphia Eagles in preseason action. Get ready for a homecoming that should carry a lot of emotions for Vick in what will be his first game back in Philly after being let go.

For all you Jets fans out there, don’t worry about seeing former quarterback Mark Sanchez playing against his former team, as head coach Chip Kelly has announced that his starters and main backups will not be playing. Vick will be the starting quarterback for the Jets, and Matt Barkley will get the start for the Eagles to prove his worth.

Expect to see a ton of rushing from the Jets as they are set to unleash a heavy dose of ground-and-pound this season. The Jets boast a running back corps featuring Chris Johnson, Bilal Powell and Chris Ivory. The Eagles will continue to showcase the speed, versatility and effectiveness of their fast-paced spread offense that leaves defenders looking lost and confused on the field.

Overall, the Eagles should have a field day against the Jets’ banged-up defensive secondary as the team struggles to find the right personnel to help cover the corners of the field. Philadelphia will surely exploit this weakness from the moment the teams get on the field.

While many would have enjoyed a shootout between Vick and Sanchez, this game will truly be all about the depth on each team. It’s crucial that both the Eagles and Jets give plenty of reps to players on the roster bubble, and see if they can be used when the games actually start to count.
