With one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, the New Orleans Saints will be forced to make some tough roster cuts in order to make room for their star players. As a result, there are a few players who deserve a roster spot that simply won’t get one. With that said, here are 10 Saints players who won’t make the final cut.

With more talented options on the roster, there’s simply no room for rookie quarterback Logan Kilgore. He could latch on as a backup elsewhere, but Kilgore isn’t likely going to make it in New Orleans.

With all the additions in the Saints' secondary, Rod Sweeting will be without a job before the season starts. He’s not a terrible player by any means, but there’s just no reason for the Saints to keep him around.

Although he has yet to show much in the NFL, Charles Hawkins is still a guy who the Saints would love to keep around. Unfortunately, with a logjam of talent at the wide receiver position, Hawkins is the odd man out.

7. Greg Jones, RB

Once one of the best fullbacks in the league, Greg Jones' play has fallen off in recent years. With Austin Johnson's great play this preseason, Jones is as good as gone.

The Saints have a ton of depth at both safety positions, and Marcus Ball is just a player they no longer need. Ball isn't spectacular in any one area, and with better options on the roster, he is likely to be cut soon.

Tyrunn Walker is a guy who has yet to show much at the NFL level, and with undrafted free agent George Uko impressing Saints coaches, Walker is likely to be without a roster spot soon.

With both Jonathan Goodwin and Tim Lelito on the roster, Matt Armstong doesn't have a place in New Orleans. Goodwin and Lelito are better players at this point, and Armstrong is simply too raw to keep on the roster.

Although the Saints aren't overwhelmingly talented in the linebacking core, Ramon Humber probably isn't going to stick on New Orleans' roster into the regular season. Humber is a mediocre player, and the Saints will likely release him.

Had the Saints not signed Travis Beckum, Josh Hill would likely stay on the final roster. However, with Beckum now in line to handle the No. 3 tight end duties, Hill will be released.

As good as Luke McCown has been this preseason for the Saints, there is a younger, better option on the roster in the form of Ryan Griffin. With Griffin on the roster, the Saints have no need for McCown.
