The Minnesota Vikings will take on the Tennessee Titans in the preseason finale for both teams. Most of the notable names on both teams will not play, but the final battle for roster spots and roles will be important for certain players.

Here are my five bold predictions for Thursday night's game.

5. Christian Ponder Will Play At Least Three Quarters

Ponder has not played in the last two preseason games for the Vikings. With Matt Cassel certain not to play and Teddy Bridgewater unlikely to play a lot Thursday night, the team will have an opportunity to showcase the former first-round pick for quarterback-needy teams.

4. Zach Mettenberger Will Throw At Least Two Touchdowns

Mettenberger has had a strong preseason, with a league-leading 504 passing yards. He is likely to usurp Charlie Whitehurst on the depth chart, and a strong showing in the preseason finale will cement his status as Jake Locker's backup.

3. Adam Thielen Will Score a Punt Return Touchdown

Thielen nearly returned a punt for a touchdown last Saturday against Kansas City. On his way to locking down a roster spot for the Vikings, I expect him to finish the job with more opportunities to come on Thursday night.

2. Dexter McCluster Will Score a Touchdown In Multiple Ways

McCluster may see a lot of action for the Titans on Thursday night, and his versatility will surely be on full display. Whether it be as a runner, receiver or a kick returner, I expect McCluster to visit the end zone at least twice.

1. Jerick McKinnon Will Be The Game's Leading Rusher

Matt Asiata may be Minnesota's No. 1 running back again Thursday night, as he has been all preseason. But I think McKinnon will get an extended look, and make the most of it as he makes a case to be Adrian Peterson's primary backup.
