NFL Preseason 2014: 5 Bold Predictions For Kansas City Chiefs vs. Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs will end their preseasons this Thursday when they meet at Lambeau Field. The game will be a great offensive battle, involving one of the best quarterbacks in the league, some of the best receivers on the part of the Packers, and one of the best running backs in the game right now in the Chiefs' Jamaal Charles. Here are five predictions of what to expect in the game.

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith has struggled this year. In the preseason so far, he has thrown three picks and has yet to pass for a touchdown. Green Bay's secondary has come together and is showing good reads on passes, and I predict they will intercept Smith at least once.

Jayrone Elliott has made four sacks thus far in the preseason. The undrafted defensive end has been a great surprise for the Packers and getting him as much play time as possible is the only way to test whether or not he is the real deal. With B.J. Raji out for the season, it is more essential than ever for the Packers to determine which defensive linemen have starting potential.

3. Jamaal Charles Will Rush For Two TDs

As this is the last preseason game for the Chiefs, fans can expect to see quite a few more carries for Charles. The all-time leader for career yards per carry (5.6) has an advantage over Green Bay's defense on Thursday. With B.J. Raji out, there will be a less experienced player at nose tackle, which could lead to a less dynamic run defense.

2. Julius Peppers Will Record A Sack

After seeing little play time and producing almost nothing in the first two weeks, Peppers made three tackles, with two behind the line, plus a sack last week against the Raiders. He is slowly but surely meeting his stride in Green Bay, and with any luck he will continue to increase his dominance in Dom Capers' defense this week against the Chiefs.

1. Aaron Rodgers Will Throw Three Touchdown Passes

While Aaron Rodgers only completed 9-of-20 against the Oakland Raiders last week, he still threw for two scores and is showing great rhythm with all of his receivers. This week, he will most likely see more field time and will be able to dominate the Chiefs' secondary. Expect three touchdowns thrown by Rodgers on Thursday.
