The Buffalo Bills have not performed well this preseason. And although preseason games don't count, they are good indicators of how a team will perform in prime time. The Bills have a lot of fixing to do and very little time to do it. The franchise's ownership woes aren't helping the situation either. Here are five signs that the Buffalo Bills are doomed this season.

The Bills 27-14 loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs was ugly. The Bills struggled mightily to find any consistency, as they have done all preseason. The team even faced a third and 40 at one point. This poor “dress rehearsal” showed that the team needs more practice.

The Bills offense is slow and bumbling. They’ve scored a low amount of points in their preseason games. Even the fans don’t seem to enjoy watching their team play, and Manuel has heard his share of boos. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett needs to whip these guys into shape and give the offense some more versatile plays…if they can handle it.

3. The Defense Is Overworked

Because of the shotty offense, the Bills defense has to be on the field a lot. Even though the defense is adequate and improving, it’s hard for any defensive squad to withstand consistent three-and-outs from their offense brethren. And, as we all know: a tried defense = more points allowed.

2. QB E.J. Manuel Isn’t On Top Of His Game

Although Manuel was drafted 16th overall in 2013, the former Florida State QB is struggling to adapt and adjust. Still adjusting after his knee injury last season, now Manuel is too often late on his delivery and slow to recognize coverage. He also needs to work on throwing deep, accurate passes. Manuel’s inconsistent play will make it tough for the Bills to win this season.

To top all it off, the Bills are currently being sold. Having poor playing performances while trying to negotiate a deal only helps to lower the team’s value. Morgan Stanley is helping the Wilson family sell the franchise and it’s evident that there is scant interest in buying the team. Only three offers came back from the 60 groups Morgan Stanley invited to bid (forbes.com). A Bill’s on-field product can only make these ownership matters worse.
