The fourth NFL preseason game is reserved for players to battle it out amongst each other. There are only so many roster spots left, which means the final preseason game is the last opportunity for many players to leave a lasting mark on the coaching staff. Here’s a look at five Packers to watch during preseason Week 4.

Jay Elliot is someone who wasn’t considered for a roster spot at the beginning of camp, but he has impressed so much in the preseason that he’s destined to be one of the surprise roster clinchers. Of course, nothing is official, which means Elliot will have to show off his pass-rushing abilities some more Thursday night. That is especially the case since Nate Palmer is gunning for the same outside linebacker job.

4. Jumal Rolle, CB

Jumal Rolle has been very impressive in the preseason, but unfortunately, he’s backed up on the deep defensive back depth chart. The only two players he could realistically take a job away from are Jarrett Bush and Davon House. Both players have played well and are critical to Green Bay’s success. Regardless, Rolle still has an opportunity to show the coaches what they could be missing in 2014.

With starting center JC Tretter sidelined for at least five weeks, the Packers will turn to rookie Corey Linsley. That means Linsley must be in the game as long as possible against the Chiefs in order to get the feel for the starting role. The good news is Linsley has shown a tremendous amount of potential in camp. Still, he’s someone fans will want to keep an eye on during Green Bay’s final preseason game.

The top position battle for the Packers Thursday night will be quarterback. I believe Green Bay will only keep two quarterbacks on the final roster, which means either Scott Tolzien or Matt Flynn will be cut. Both quarterbacks will have a great chance to prove their worth. Tolzien’s age, strong arm and ability to find the end zone in the preseason makes him the favorite of the two.

Even if Tolzien has the upper edge, Flynn is well liked in Green Bay. Not to mention, Aaron Rodgers is a huge fan. If Flynn can have a flawless performance Thursday night, there’s a good chance he will remain on the roster. Otherwise, he will have to pack his bags.
