On Thursday, the New England Patriots played the New York Giants on the road in each team’s final preseason game. Although CB Darrelle Revis did not play (New England rested the starters), this was only the second time he was back at MetLife Stadium. Last season he played the Jets at MetLife Stadium as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On Thursday he drew a blank when he was asked if there was a single MetLife memory that stood out for him during his time with the Jets. Revis also said he only played two years in the new stadium, when he actually played three, but who’s counting?
Revis sounded like he was already deep into the “Patriot Way.” The All-Pro cornerback spoke about how the game against the Jets last season was just another game and it will be the same when he faces them again, this time as a member of the Patriots.
Here’s a “note” from Revis to the Jets.
I once played for the Jets,
I intercepted more footballs than some nets.
Gang Green shipped me to the Bucs,
I didn’t give two, um, ducks.
Now I’m helping the Pats D,
And watching one of the best QBs, Brady.
I couldn’t come up with a single memory of MetLife,
If I was married neither would my wife.
Maybe the Giants colors threw me off and are to blame,
But it’s cool entering the season, expecting to win at least one playoff game.
I thought I’d played two seasons at MetLife so sue me,
Forget Rex, I love playing for the Hoodie.
