5 Denver Broncos Players Who Were Surprisingly Cut

The Denver Broncos announced their 53-man roster on Saturday afternoon. While the team chose the 53 best players to represent Broncos Country in 2014, there were a few moves made by the team that had some turning heads and asking why was this player not given a roster spot.

Here are my five most surprising roster cuts for the Broncos.

Even though I predicted that he would end up getting cut, I am still a bit surprised that the Broncos decided to go with three tight ends on the roster. The reason it was surprising was that reports indicated early on that he did make the 53-man roster. He ended up being perhaps the last Bronco to be cut by the team. Robinson will end up on the practice squad.

4. Kapri Bibbs

Even though he recorded a few touchdowns in preseason, it didn't appear to be enough. I believe the spot came down to Bibbs and Juwan Thompson. Thompson just appeared to do enough to unseat the Colorado State favorite. Bibbs has been placed on the practice squad, but it would have been nice to see him suit up on Sundays.

3. Kevin Vickerson

This move was the first big surprise to come out of the Broncos camp. Vickerson suffered a hip injury that forced him to miss the last eight games of the season. It appeared that he did not recover well enough from the injury, and with Sylvester Williams and Mitch Unrein in the wings, Vickerson's time in Denver was all but over.

2. Zac Dysert

This move comes as a bit of a shock given John Fox's method of keeping three quarterbacks on the roster. Keeping two on the roster was a given in order for the Broncos to add more depth elsewhere. Dysert without question will make the practice squad, which it has been reported that he did. He can develop a bit more after some impressive plays in the preseason.

One of the Broncos' opening day starters, Ihenacho was one of the unlucky ones to be waived by the team. With the signing of T.J. Ward, it appeared that Ihenacho was going to be in trouble to hold his starting job. Adding on the return of Rahim Moore and Quinton Carter from injury just made the situation even more bleak. Reports indicate that he was picked up by Washington, so he wasn't homeless for long.
