The 2014 regular season is just a few short days away. The Denver Broncos are returning as the AFC Champions, falling one game short of a Super Bowl title. Many people, including myself, believe this team has the potential to be even greater than last year's squad.

With that in mind, here are my 10 bold predictions for the Broncos in 2014.

10. Aqib Talib Will Play A Full 16 Game Season

The Broncos signed Aqib Talib to a huge contract in hoping that he would be the top-tier corner for the Broncos for years. His injury history is not the brightest, but I have optimism that he will finish this season without a hiccup because he will learn from his last two times that he was injured in the AFC Championship Games.

We all remember in 2013 when Ronnie Hillman was placed in John Fox's doghouse for his inconsistency and fumble issues. I believe he has learned from that experience and will play even better than what was hoped when the team drafted him. Hillman could be the next Julius Thomas in breakout players.

While the Broncos are more of a pass heavy team, I can see them looking to run the ball more this season. Going off of that, I think Montee Ball will have a great year, eclipse 1,200 yards this season, and eclipse more than 10 touchdowns. He is a power runner who has the ability to make an impact in the offense, especially with how he finished last year.

7. Julius Thomas Will Be A Top 5 TE

Fans of the NFL were surprised when Julius Thomas had a career year. From a player who only had one catch in his first two years, to becoming a big part of the Broncos' offense. While he is not yet in the discussion with Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski, he could be there sooner than people think. Look for Thomas to finish with more than 1,000 yards and double digit touchdowns this season.

6. Emmanuel Sanders Will Post Career Numbers

With the departure of Eric Decker, Emmanuel Sanders will assume his role in the offense. Better hands and the ability to go deep gives the offense such a great added dynamic. Look for Sanders to become involved often in the passing attack and post huge numbers.

5. Demarcus Ware, Von Miller Will Combine For At Least 10 Sacks

When the Broncos brought in Demarcus Ware, it gave them another pass rusher that they needed to cause quarterbacks trouble. Having him on the opposite side of Von Miller makes offenses cringe because they need to be aware of both sides of the line. Look for these two to lead the defense and create a lot of pressure on the opposing quarterbacks.

4. The Broncos Will Have A Top 5 Offense and Defense

With all the new additions to the roster, combined with the players from the Super Bowl run in 2013, this team could be even more lethal in 2014. The offense remained mostly intact and the defense got a much-needed upgrade. This is definitely one of the most well-rounded teams on paper.

3. The Broncos Will Become The AFC's No. 1 Seed Again

I can agree that the schedule for the Broncos is not exactly favorable, especially in the early going, but the Broncos seem to be a team that cannot be stopped. There will be some games that they will have a tough time winning; they might even lose those games, but they are just too well-rounded and focused to not be the No. 1 seed.

2. Peyton Manning Will Throw 50 Touchdowns

The Sheriff is looking to win his second Super Bowl ring and will stop at nothing to make that happen. Peyton Manning won't break his own record for passing touchdowns in a season, but he will light up the opposing secondaries for the big 50 in touchdowns this season. With the slightly improved offense, I can see this happening.

I am really hoping that I am not going to jinx them, but I have high optimism for this prediction. The Broncos are looking to avenge coming so close to winning it all last year that they went out and got the best players to form a very strong team. Another reason behind this prediction is the depth of the team. This is perhaps one of the deepest teams in the league in many positions. If healthy, there's no doubt they hoist the trophy in the end.
