The 2014 season will start off in just a couple of days when the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks face the Green Bay Packers. The Packers boast one of the most explosive offenses in the game, while the Seahawks have a defense that is unrivaled. Here are 5 key matchups to watch during the game.

The Green Bay Packers' defensive backs were the weak link in the defense last year. They added depth at safety during the offseason, but Micah Hyde is in just his second year, and just started playing safety. Coaches have faith in Hyde, but it will be interesting to see how his overall intelligence stacks up against Harvin's elusiveness and speed.

Fans saw last year what happens when Richard Sherman is up against a "sorry (expletive) receiver" like Marcus Crabtree. Jordy Nelson was tenth in receiving yards last year and is complemented by one of the best quarterbacks in the league right now. If anyone can challenge the Seahawks' defensive backs, it may be the Packers. Unfortunately, many said the same of the Broncos just a few months ago.

Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch has been one of the most exciting NFL running backs to watch for years. Speed, power, he has it all. The Packers lost a good run defender in B.J. Raji, but this game depends on whether or not the defensive line can stop Lynch and slow the run game. If they play well against the run, it will lessen the ability of the Seahawks to use play action.

Seattle probably has the loudest fan bases in all of sports. Unfortunately for the Packers, they have a fairly young offensive line that has already had some trouble with penalties during the preseason. They will need to exercise outstanding discipline or it will be an evening of headaches for Coach Mike McCarthy.

Russell Wilson is one of the most mobile quarterbacks in the league. He can outrun many linebackers and is a major threat when outside the pocket. If Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers can contain him, the Packers will be able to have greater control over the offense. Wilson is a very solid quarterback but if he is kept inside the pocket, his game suffers to a notable extent.
