Thursday Night Football kicks off again tomorrow, and two teams will try their best to field a competitive game. That is not a likely scenario, though, which means we could be witness to another major blowout in a mid-week battle.
The Atlanta Falcons lost last Sunday, so I anticipate them to come out with all cylinders firing. They have the best passing attack in all of football this season when it comes to yardage. That should tell you a lot about the style this one will be played with, and you can expect huge games from Julio Jones and Matt Ryan.
Roddy White is another under-appreciated part of the Falcons’ passing attack, which should account for at least 300 yards through the air Thursday night as an offensive unit.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on the other hand, could be gearing up for another year full of losses; this Thursday should be no different, resulting in them becoming the first 0-3 team in the league. Quarterbacks like Josh McCown are just not built for the bright lights, and I anticipate him to struggle moving the ball through the air, shift awkwardly in the pocket under pressure and get sacked multiple times throughout the game.
History is also not in their favor, because the Buccaneers have lost five out of their last six games against Atlanta. This does not bode well for Tampa Bay.
My prediction: Falcons 30, Buccaneers 14
