The New Orleans Saints had themselves a great 2014 NFL Draft, bringing in several players that could one day be stars. General manager Micky Loomis has earned a reputation as a great drafter over the years, and it looks like he again hit a home run in the 2014 draft. With that said, here are the first quarter grades for every Saints' draft pick.

Round One: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oklahoma State

Grade: A-

The Saints knew they were getting good value when they traded up in the first round to draft Brandin Cooks, but his play so far is even better than the team was anticipating. Cooks has given the Saints an all-purpose playmaker and the type of explosive slot receiver they need. Cooks was well worth the investment.

Round Two: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska

Grade: C-

Although he showed talent in the preseason, the fact that Stanley Jean-Baptiste hasn't seen the field despite the Saints' troubles at cornerback is disappointing. The talent for him to succeed is there, but Jean-Baptiste clearly isn't ready for the NFL yet.

Round Four: Khairi Fortt, OLB, California

Grade: Incomplete

Khairi Fortt was placed on the Saints' IR and designated to return before the season. He will look to make an impact when he returns.

Round Five: Vinnie Sunseri, SS, Alabama

Grade: B

There were times this preseason where Vinnie Sunseri looked like the Saints' best safety, and that's saying something considering the talent the team has at the position. Sunseri has future-starter written all over him.

Grade: C-

The Saints only had two other draft picks, selecting outside linebacker Ronald Powell, and offensive tackle Tavon Rooks. Powell has yet to make a tackle, while Rooks was placed on the practice squad. Both have good talent however, and Rooks in particular looks like a future starting right tackle.
