TV Schedule: Thursday, Oct. 2, 8:25 p.m. ET, CBS/NFL
Stadium: Lambeau Field
Line: Green Bay (-9.5)
The Green Bay Packers will enter this Week 5 matchup as the favorites, but they have to be a little concerned with how the Minnesota Vikings performed last week.
In Teddy Bridgewater’s first start as a pro, he managed to lead the Vikings to a 41-28 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Remember, these are the same Falcons that torched Tampa Bay by the score of 56-14 in Week 3.
Bridgewater didn’t have a single passing TD, but he did score on the ground and also had 317 passing yards. The Vikings’ running game went off for 241 yards, which was led by Jerick McKinnon’s 135-yard performance.
The Packers had a pretty good week as well. They not only beat the Chicago Bears, but they did so on the road and by 21 points. There is nothing better than beating a division rival in blowout fashion, and I am sure many Packers fans would agree.
Although Bridgewater had an impressive first start, it is Aaron Rodgers who should steal the show in Week 5. Rodgers had an Aaron Rodgers-like performance last week, throwing for 302 yards and four touchdowns.
I don’t want to say the Vikings’ win was a fluke because it wasn’t, but beating Green Bay on the road is going to be very tough, and Minnesota has been up and down.
The fans at Lambeau Field should be celebrating a victory this Thursday, assuming Rodgers & Co. have another good outing.
PREDICTION: Vikings 24, Packers 32
