The Indianapolis Colts finished the first quarter of the season with a 2-2 record. After trading a first-round pick to Cleveland for RB Trent Richardson (a pick the Browns used to trade up for QB Johnny Manziel), the Colts had to wait until pick No. 59 before making a selection. How have the rookies performed to date? Here are the first quarter grades for all five selections.

Jack Mewhort played left tackle at Ohio State, but he was moved inside to left guard when he arrived in Indianapolis. Due to an injury to Donald Thomas, Mewhort was inserted into the starting lineup Week 1. Despite playing a new position, Mewhort has played well. His best trait in college was his pass protection and the same is true in the NFL. Mewhort has not allowed a sack through four games this season.

Donte Moncrief was one of the most exciting players to watch at the 2014 NFL Combine. Among wide receivers, Moncrief finished in the top three in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump and broad jump. He has seen his playing time increase dramatically over the past two weeks, both victories. Through four games, Moncrief has eight receptions for 94 yards. He's currently listed as the No. 4 WR on the depth chart.

After being dismissed from Ohio State, Jonathan Newsome became a star at Ball State. Playing college ball in the state of Indiana, Newsome was able to gain the attention of Indianapolis scouts. He hasn't played much this season, but the hope is Newsome develops enough this season to start opposite Bjoern Werner next season.
Grade: C-

Round 6: Andrew Jackson (ILB-Western Kentucky)

The Colts made this pick hoping Jackson could return to his 2012 form. Injuries and perceived laziness in 2013 pushed Jackson all the way down to Round 6. Unlike Newsome, who is more of a pass-rusher, Jackson excels in run defense. After missing time due to injury, Jackson made his regular season debut in Week 4. He did not record a tackle in very limited action. It will be difficult for Jackson to remain on the roster all season.
