Seahawks vs. Redskins: 5 Matchups To Watch

The Washington Redskins will host the Seattle Seahawks in their first meeting since the Seahawks beat the Redskins in a 2012 NFC Wildcard game. One of the biggest headlines coming from that game was injury to Robert Griffin III, who hasn't been the same dynamic player since. With Griffin out with another injury, Washington will look to Kirk Cousins to lead them to an upset victory over Seattle.

Despite Washington's 1-3 record, Alfred Morris is one of the best young running backs in the NFL and is fully capable of carrying his team to victory on Monday. However, he'll have to do it against the Seattle's fifth-ranked run defense. If the Seahawks can keep Morris contained, the Redskins will have to rely on Kirk Cousins' arm to win.

Percy Harvin is one of the most electric players in the whole league, and he has the ability to have a huge impact on Monday night's matchup. The Redskins statistically have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL, so Harvin and the Seahawks will look to exploit them. If Washington can keep him in check, it could go a long way towards beating the defending Super Bowl champions.

Through only four weeks, the Redskins' pass rush has 11 sacks, though 10 of those came in one game. Nonetheless, Ryan Kerrigan is one of the best pass rushers in the league. The Seahawks will need to keep Russell Wilson clean for them to win this game.

Beast Mode. The key to Seattle's offense is obviously the running game. The Seahawks will try to establish Marshawn Lynch early in this game, and if he's able to beat the Redskins and their front-seven, it's going to be a long night for the Washington defense. On the flip side, if they are able to stop him it will severely limit the Seahawks' offense.

This is perhaps the most important matchup of the game. After Kirk Cousins threw four interceptions agains the New York Giants last week, the Seahawks' secondary - the Legion of Boom - is licking their chops to cause some turnovers against the young quarterback. Don't sleep on Cousins, though, as he is a streaky player who, when he's hot, could beat any secondary - even the best in the NFL.
