Bobby Wagner Will Be X-Factor For Seattle Seahawks In Week 6
The Seattle Seahawks will have a huge test this coming Sunday when they face off against the Dallas Cowboys at CenturyLink Field. I truly believe linebacker Bobby Wagner will be the x-factor heading into this game as Seattle gets ready to be tested by the NFL‘s leading rusher in DeMarco Murray.
The Seahawks are coming into this pivotal game boasting the NFL’s top run defense by only giving up 62.2 yards per game. They’re led by Wagner and his 43 tackles over the course of their first four games.
While the Seahawks’ defensive line needs to do their job and take on blocks to free up Wagner, there will be times in which he has to shed the guy blocking him and make a play. In the play below, Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy cut to the right to avoid Wagner, who ended up getting blocked by an offensive lineman. This sprung Lacy for a 15-yard gain. While Wagner ended up shedding the block and making the tackle down field, Seattle’s defense gave up a nice chunk of yardage. They can’t afford to do this against Murray and the Cowboys. Unlike Lacy, Murray possesses the explosiveness to take it to the house on any given play.
Now, in the play below, the Seahawks’ defensive line did a great job of eating up blockers, which allowed Wagner to make a play on the San Diego Chargers‘ ball carrier.
It should really be a treat for us to watch two of the top teams right now in the NFC — the Seahawks and Cowboys — as they go to battle this Sunday.
