Lions vs. Vikings NFL Week 6: TV Schedule, Betting Lines, Prediction

Detroit Lions

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Week 6 Matchup: Detroit Lions (3-2) vs. Minnesota Vikings (2-3)

TV Schedule: Sunday, Oct. 12, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX

Stadium: TCF Bank Stadium

Line: Detroit (-2)

The Minnesota Vikings may have looked good in Week 4, beating Atlanta 41-28, but in no way was that the case in Week 5. The Vikings could only manage 10 points against the Green Bay Packers and gave up 42 in the process.

Now, Aaron Rodgers did have a solid game, and he is very tough to stop when he is on his game. Plus, Christian Ponder was thrown to the wolves. Considering it is only Week 6 and the Vikings already had to throw in their third QB, you could say they have had a good amount of problems (via injuries).

The Vikings’ next opponent will be the Detroit Lions, who are also coming off of a loss. The Lions fell to the Buffalo Bills by the score of 17-14 in Week 5.

No matter who is thrown out there at quarterback for the Vikings, Matthew Stafford will still have the edge. When actually playing at his best, he is an elite QB. You cannot say that about any of Minnesota’s quarterbacks, at least not yet (here’s to hoping Teddy Bridgewater turns out to be a beast). Unfortunately, Stafford tends to be up and down.

This contest will be played at TCF Bank Stadium, though, so Minnesota at least has that. Although this matchup could be close if the Vikings’ defense comes to play, I am predicting the Lions to get back on track.

PREDICTION: Lions 25, Vikings 17
