The Detroit Lions had another strong defensive outing in Week 6, as they easily handled the Minnesota Vikings in Minnesota 17-3. The offense struggled at times, but made enough plays to distance themselves from the Vikings in a defensive struggle. Here are the five biggest takeaways from Detroit's Week 6 win.

Facing the NFL's 23rd-ranked passing game and 10th-ranked rushing attack, the Lions held the Vikings to just three points, less than 250 yards of total offense and forced three turnovers off Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

With Reggie Bush out because of an ankle injury, third-string running back Theo Riddick was effective in his absence. Riddick carried the ball three times for six yards and caught five passes on six targets for 75 yards and a touchdown.

After allowing six sacks to Buffalo, Detroit gave up four more to the Vikings in Week 6. Detroit can't afford to win this way, especially with New Orleans and Atlanta coming up in the next two weeks.
