The Washington Redskins continued their losing ways by committing four fourth quarter turnovers against the Arizona Cardinalsin a 30-20 defeat. Washington now has an embarrassing nine-game losing streak on the road. The Redskins are 1-5, and hope is waning in the 2014 season. Here’s the good, the bad and the ugly from Week 6.

The Good:

Washington’s offense was effective in the first half and moved the ball in the second half until turnovers ruined promising drives. The highlight was DeSean Jackson, who caught a 64-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter for Washington’s best touchdown. The offense is starting to give its best playmaker more touches, whether it’s on-screen passes or reverses. Jackson registered his third straight 100-yard receiving game on the afternoon.

The Bad:

The Redskins’ pass defense continued to struggle against Carson Palmer and the Cardinals, giving up two passing touchdowns. Rookie Bashaud Breeland had trouble covering Larry Fitzgerald all game long, which wasn’t that much of a surprise. Washington’s defense could simply not get off the field on third down against Arizona, allowing seven out of 17 conversions mainly through the air.

The Ugly:

In the fourth quarter, Washington fell apart and committed four turnovers that ultimately decided the game. Andre Roberts fumbled at the Washington 34, which Arizona converted into a field goal. Kirk Cousins joined him on the turnover train by throwing two interceptions in the following possessions. To top it all off, Cousins threw a pick-six to end the game.

There’s not much promise left for Washington to turn it around this season. They continue to make the same mistakes that losing teams often do. At this point, the light at the end of the tunnel is just laughing at the Redskins.
