5 Biggest Issues Facing Pittsburgh Steelers After 3-3 Start

The Pittsburgh Steelers simply don't look like the dominant team they were five years ago. They have numerous problems after starting this season 3-3. Here are five key issues that this team faces going forward.

The Steelers' secondary -- led by future Hall of Famer Troy Polamalu -- isn't forcing turnovers the way they once did while ranking 21st in the NFL in interceptions. It also doesn't help that along with Polamalu, cornerback Ike Taylor isn't the same player he once was when he's healthy.

It doesn't seem like the Steelers are as physical as they once were along the defensive line. They really have a tough time getting after opposing quarterbacks and rank 22nd in the NFL in sacks.

In the NFL you have to average over 21 points a game if you're going to win week in and week out. Right now Pittsburgh ranks 24th in the NFL with an average of 20.7 points per game.

2. Can't Protect Ben Roethlisberger

It seems like the Steelers have been neglecting their offensive line for years now. They also seem to trust that Ben Roethlisberger will continue to stay healthy. Sooner or later he's going to get seriously injured.

What would another Steelers season be like without their fans asking for offensive coordinator Todd Haley to be fired? They've struggled in the red zone a lot this season. Former head coach Bill Cowher referred to their offense as a "finesse" unit, which is not the way the Steelers have always played football.
