Knowshon Moreno was hoping to cash in during free agency after a breakout 2013 season. But when the offers didn’t come pouring in, Moreno took a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins to prove he was the real deal. Following an ACL injury, however, Moreno’s 2014 season is done and the running back will be back on the open market this offseason. Where will he end up in 2015?

If Adrian Peterson is done in Minnesota, the Vikings will be looking to add some bodies to their backfield this offseason. Jerick McKinnon has looked very good as a rookie as he surpasses Matt Asiata, but the team could use a strong runner like Moreno to complement the flash of McKinnon.

Maurice Jones-Drew has not worked out for the Raiders in 2014 and Darren McFadden seems to have lost the explosiveness that made him one of the elite backs in the NFL. Through five games this season, Oakland is averaging just 72 yards per game (31st in the NFL) and scored one rushing touchdown (32nd). Bringing in Moreno could provide a spark to the running game.

Speaking of free-agent acquisitions that didn’t work out, Toby Gerhart has been a non-factor for Jacksonville this season. The Jaguars rank dead last in the NFL with 69.5 yards rushing per game and are the only team in the league without a run over 20 yards. While they are high on rookie Storm Johnson, adding a veteran workhorse like Moreno could speed up the rebuilding process in Jacksonville.

Despite only playing in three games this season, Miami could like what they see in Moreno enough to bring him back again in 2015. Despite missing two games with his elbow injury, Moreno is currently second on the team in carries (31) and yards (148). Lamar Miller has looked good but there isn’t a lot of proven depth on the team that the Dolphins will likely trust over a player like Moreno, if the price is right.

With his price likely driven down by this injury, a reunion with the Broncos is not out of the question. With him leading the way, Denver’s rushing attack was pretty good last season. Without him, it’s been rough sledding, even with Ronnie Hillman squeaking out 100 yards against a soft front last week. The Broncos rank 26th in rushing so far this season and should be open to bringing the hard-running Moreno back to Mile High in 2015.
