5 Biggest Issues Facing New York Giants After 3-3 Start

Despite getting blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday night, the New York Giants aren't in terrible shape going forward. In their three wins this season they've showed they fix some of the issues they have. The problem is those troubles won't seem to go away.

Punter Steve Weatherford needs to improve his consistency. But more importantly the Giants' coverage unit on punts needs to stop giving up big returns. Their own returner -- whether it's Preston Parker or Quentin Demps -- needs to make sure they don't turn the ball over.

Rashad Jennings is a very good all-around running back, and the Giants clearly missed him this past week. But let's be honest; I'm not sure any running back could have been effective against the Eagles' defense. New York will need Andre Williams to have a big game this week against the Cowboys if they're going to have a shot at winning.

The Giants' pass rush has shown signs of life at times, but they're not as consistent as they need to be. One half they look like they're sleep walking and the next half they look like the 2007 Giants with Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora.

The Giants' coaching staff needs to step things up. They can't afford for their team to dominate one week and then get dominated the next week. They need to be consistent if they want to get back to the playoffs for the first time in a few years.

When you look at the Giants' success this season, it all comes down to their offensive line blocking. If they don't, Eli Manning can't go to work and the offense will be stuck in neutral the way it was against the Eagles. And then bad things happen.
