Thursday brings the latest in a long line of blowout Thursday Night Football games (expect for last week’s game -- Colts vs. Texans was really good). This week boasts the 4-2 and rolling New England Patriots at home against the 1-5 and haplessly-led New York Jets. It should be a real show stopper. Jokes. Here are five bold predictions from what will be a very one-sided game.

5. Geno Smith Will Throw Three Interceptions

The Jets’ quarterback situation has been a joke all season (when has it ever been serious?), and Geno Smith is happily proving that Rex Ryan can't draft a decent quarterback. Smith has thrown at least one interception in every game this season and tomorrow’s game will be no different.

4. Jeremy Kerley Will Finish With Zero Receiving Yards

Now this may not seem like that crazy a prediction until you realize that since he’s been in the league (2011), Kerley has had the most receiving yards against the Patriots in the NFL (417). But not this time! The Patriots will make sure the offense doesn't run through Kerley by sticking him on Revis Island.

The first quarter will be close, a little back and forth as most games start. Then midway through the second quarter, Smith will do something drive ending (think throwing into triple coverage and Devin McCourty or Brandon Browner hauling in an interception) and the game will slip away from there.

2. Both Team’s Starting Tight Ends Will Have Two Touchdown Days

Jace Amaro finally did something last week, to the utter happiness of Rex Ryan, and I’d expect him to continue life in the end zone. The Patriots’ tight end coverage has taken a big hit with the Jerod Mayo injury, and the team will still be figuring things out. As for Rob Gronkowski, he’s just a beast.

Why is this a big deal? Because this will be the first game the Patriots play without Stevan Ridley. I’m hoping Josh McDaniels doesn't get his way and decides to never run the ball again. The Patriots will be facing a once-great Jets defense that’s given up 300 yards in last two games. Expect their running-back-by-committee approach to do well.
