Week 7 Matchup: New York Giants (3-3) vs. Dallas Cowboys (5-1)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Oct. 19, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: AT&T Stadium
Line: Dallas (-6.5)
I didn’t think I would be saying this entering Week 7 of the 2014 NFL season, but the Dallas Cowboys could be the best team in the league. Next up for them will be the New York Giants, who were on quite the roll, but took a step back in Week 6.
Dallas has now taken out five opponents in a row, including the Seattle Seahawks … on the road. Seattle may have two losses, but beating it anywhere, let alone at its home, is very impressive. One of the big keys for the Cowboys this year has been their running game, as it ranks No. 1 in the NFL in rushing yards per game. DeMarco Murray is having a season for the ages and even had 115 rushing yards against Seattle. The team as a whole had 162 rushing yards. It helps that Tony Romo continues to play good ball.
Before getting knocked out by the score of 27-0 against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Giants were riding a three-game winning streak. To their credit, they did take the Eagles on away from home. Unfortunately, the team took a big hit in that game with Victor Cruz going down. Eli Manning and Co. will have to go on without him. Regardless, the Giants cannot slip up now. They already have three losses on the season despite their streak that just ended. They will take a huge step forward or backward, depending on the result of this game.
Unfortunately for the Giants, Dallas will be playing at home, and is one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. Stopping that running game will not be easy either.
PREDICTION: Giants 21, Cowboys 27
