Week 7 Matchup: Houston Texans (3-3) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-3)
TV Schedule: Monday, Oct. 20, 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
Stadium: Heinz Field
Line: Pittsburgh (-3.5)
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans will both enter this contest on some sort of a losing streak. They also both enter with a 3-3 record.
Houston enters on a two-game losing streak. For what it’s worth, those two losses have come against Dallas and Indianapolis, who are two of the best teams in the NFL. Also, the Texans lost to the Cowboys in OT, and by five against Indy. Their outlook could be much different right now, but unfortunately they still lost both contests. They are, however, only one game back in the AFC South, so the playoffs are still a possibility at this point.
Pittsburgh is coming off of a beating against the Cleveland Browns (lost 31-10). Sure, the game was played on the road, but that is not very promising for this Steelers team. The theme of the season has been win one, lose one. If that theme is going to continue, Pittsburgh will have to win this game. Although the Cincinnati Bengals sit at the top of the AFC North, the conference is jam-packed. Pittsburgh may be at the bottom, but it isn’t trailing by too much.
Regardless, the biggest difference in this game very well could be Pittsburgh’s running game vs. Houston’s rushing defense. It doesn’t hurt that the Steelers will be playing at home.
PREDICTION: Texans 20, Steelers 27
