Andrew Luck teamed together with experts at the Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University to start a program called Change the Play. He’s also participated in Play60. Both organizations encourage kids to play and stay fit by showing them how to have fun exercising.

According to a former teammate, James McGillicuddy, Luck once tricked him into thinking he had won the Herbie Award -- an award Luck himself had won -- by putting the trophy in his locker. Luck even had other players in on it. McGillicuddy explained it wasn’t cruel; it was a prank about not taking yourself too seriously, and said Luck even tried to get him to keep the trophy.

Reading is one of Luck’s hobbies and in an interview with Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star, he loves the book Papillon, the story of a fugitive that escaped from Devil’s Island. He also admits he loves the historical fiction genre and has a particular fondness for Bernard Cornwell.

Jim Harbaugh, head coach for the San Francisco 49ers and Luck’s former coach at Stanford, is quoted saying, "His mind, [is] a wonderful place. He thinks through everything without appearing to think through everything, like Bobby Fischer would think 12 moves ahead in chess. That's Andrew."
