Injuries Won’t Affect Dolphins vs. Bears Game Much

Injuries can plan a key roll on any given Sunday. Here’s a breakdown and the injuries that matter for Sunday’s matchup between the Miami Dolphins (2-3) and Chicago Bears (3-3).

Chicago Bears Impactful Injuries

A week ago, the Bears were decimated at linebacker. All three starters were out, leaving them with three replacements who, combined, only had a handful of starts to their record. Sounds terrible, but the results were the complete opposite. It may have been the best game of the year for any starting group that had taken the field for Chicago. So the fact that Lance Briggs is out again this weekend is not nearly as concerning. That being said, Briggs is the surest tackler on the team, and his absence is always felt.

If the Bears are losing their surest tackler in Briggs, then you can definitely say they are also losing their worst tackler with safety Chris Conte being ruled out for Sunday. The safety spot is staffed by committee already, and Conte is no big loss. The safety spots are vulnerable for the Bears no matter who they start. With their lack of talent at the position, injuries hardly matter.

There are bumps and bruises at key positions, including offensive tackles Jermon Bushrod and Jordan Mills, but both are expected to play. In the case of Mills, his level of play has dropped considerably from last season, so he’s feeling pressure from replacement Michael Ola as it is.

Jon Bostic is one of those so-so linebackers who is listed as questionable with a back injury, but is expected to play.

All in all, the Bears are healthy for seven games into the season.

Miami Dolphin Impactful Injuries

No players are ruled out for the Dolphins, and only safety Jimmy Wilson is listed as doubtful with a hamstring injury. There is some speculation that Wilson will not play, and if he doesn’t, that could be a key injury considering all the Bears receivers are healthy. Overall, an exceptionally healthy Dolphin team will show up to play on Sunday.
