No one can fault the Seattle Seahawks for taking a shot at acquiring Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas in a trade for wide receiver Percy Harvin, even if that shot is as about as laughable as it gets.

Seattle has been trying to deal Harvin for weeks, with anger management issues being the biggest reason why the organization wanted to rid themselves of him. In fact, it has been revealed that Harvin got in a fight with former Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate during the week of the Super Bowl earlier this year. That alone sums up the anger issues Harvin has reportedly dealt with during his time in Seattle.

Even more shocking than the trade itself is who the Seahawks attempted to land for Harvin before he was dealt to the New York Jets. According to a report by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Seattle wanted a premiere tight end to join their squad, more specifically Thomas of the Broncos. We are talking about a player who has only played in six regular season games since 2013 compared to a player who has over 1,000 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in the last season and a half.

When the Broncos rejected the offer (with a mighty laugh one would imagine), the Seahawks then tried to deal for Cleveland Browns tight end Jordan Cameron. Clearly, Cleveland felt the same way Denver did.

Essentially, Harvin’s trade value was nearly non-existent as we all expected. With that said, the Seahawks were fed up with the problems he was causing in the locker room, which is why they traded him to the Jets for a mid-round draft pick anyways. Considering he hardly contributed on the field, it is not much of a loss for them.
