Washington Redskins Should Strongly Consider Trading Robert Griffin III

After three years, it’s time for the Washington Redskins to trade star quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Let’s face it, Griffin will never be the pocket passer the Redskins need him to be in order to succeed in the NFL. He still runs around recklessly as he looks to score a touchdown on every play when he takes off down the field. He still hasn’t learned that he’s not playing at the college level any longer.

Aside from that, he can’t stay healthy. He’s already missed six games and counting during his short career. You can even argue he should have missed more than one game during his rookie year after injuring his knee against the Baltimore Ravens. Instead, Washington let him come back too early and he completely tore his knee up in the playoffs.

It’s really disturbing how fragile Griffin is. An NFL team needs to rely on their franchise quarterback. How can the Redskins rely on a player who dislocated his ankle this season while running without even getting hit? That’s a little troubling to me.

I’m not sure where the Redskins will go from here, but they’re not going to win many games with Griffin under center. I know his stats don’t look bad, but the NFL is all about winning, and he’s only 13-20 as a starter. I can’t imagine that Washington would be that much better this season if he never got injured.

The Redskins can try to develop Kirk Cousins, or start over with a new quarterback from the 2015 NFL Draft.
