5 Bold Predictions for Bears vs. Patriots

The New England Patriots appear on track after a slow start to the season. The Chicago Bears are proving too inconsistent to ever know how they will perform. I expect the two teams will both be on the top of their games when they meet and here’s what I think we’ll see on Sunday.

As former head coach Lovie Smith liked to say, the Bears have to come off the bus running. Facing the top ranked passing defense in the NFL, sticking to the run is the best option. It still won’t lead to a victory, but should keep them in the game.

4. Tom Brady Will Run For TD, Throw For Three More

The Bears will have no answer for the future Hall Of Fame QB. Look for Brady to leave the pocket and pick up yards with his feet often against the weak defensive backfield of the Bears.

3. Marshall Tops 100 Yards Against Belichick Again

Brandon Marshall has 100-plus yards in each of his past two games against New England. If he does it again, he will be the only receiver to ever record three consecutive 100-yard receiving games against a Bill Belichick team.

2. Cutler and Offense Will Combine For 400-Plus Yards

The up-and-down Bears offense will once again be up to the challenge on the road -- where they play much better this season. But it won’t be enough to outpace the Patriots on the scoreboard.

The Bears will hang with the Patriots until the very end and show they can put it all together and look like a top caliber team. The difference will come down to field goals as the Patriots win an impressive, close game.
