10 Biggest Disappointments From 2014 NFL Season At Halfway Point

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the big plays and the excitement, and forget all the disappointment that comes with a NFL season -- unless you are a Jaguars fan, of course. In that case, the feeling of disappointment is your closest friend. So to all those fans drenched in sorrow and sadness, here are the 10 biggest disappointments so far this season.

10. Sam Bradford's ACL

I originally had Calvin Johnson’s injury here simply because the NFL misses his sheer athletic awesomeness, but if we're looking at disappointing injuries, and just plain sad ones for that matter, Bradford wins hands-down. I hated to see Bradford go down with ACL tear, especially when he was out last year with the same thing.

I know Clowney’s lack of playing time has to been due to injury, but I'm still angry. After watching him in college and killing it in the preseason, I was so excited to watch J.J. Watt and Clowney just destroy opposing quarterbacks. Watt obviously didn't miss a beat, but my Clowney fill is no where near full. Hopefully that will soon change.

And people say the AFC East is the worst division in the NFL. Not anymore. The fact that the 2-6 Atlanta Falcons or even the 1-6 Buccaneers could easily win the division (don’t get your hopes up Bucs fans) is absolutely ridiculous. I was hoping for Cam Newton and the Panthers to battle the Saints for NFC South supremacy, but now I could care less.

Obviously most celebrations are planned and I don't have a problem with your typical touchdown celebration. It’s Jim Schwartz getting carried off the field after beating the Lions or the hot potato with Peyton Manning’s record ball that disappoints me. Really Peyton? Your plan was to look like an idiot on TV? Cool.

6. Jay Cutler’s Level Of Care

We all knew his levels of care were small, but this season Bears fans have seen just how low his care level really is. Even Brandon Marshall is getting sick of Cutler’s antics. I don't understand how people can rally around this guy in the locker room. Oh wait, they can’t. Where’s that Josh McCown guy when you need him?

While most quarterbacks aren't disappointed with the Seahawks’ secondary, you can bet the players and the fans are. After being the best secondary in recent history last year, the Legion of Boom has been a shell of its former self this season. Obviously things change but with all the talking this team does, they haven't quite been able to back it up.

4. Top Fantasy Running Backs

How disappointed were you when your top fantasy pick just gave you nothing through the first, say five weeks of the NFL season? Sadly, I freaked out and traded my pick away (it was Eddie Lacy). Be it poor performance, run ins with the law or just not being as good, the top backs did not start the season well, but some have fixed the ship.

3. Jamaal Charles

He is the most disappointing player currently in the NFL. Some of this comes from overhype and huge expectations, but he did have over 1200 yards and 10 touchdowns last year and he’s extremely talented. This season Charles has only 363 yards rushing and four TDs. Russell Wilson has 365 rushing yards, for the record.

2. The Wrongdoers

If you can't predict these next two slides, then you haven't been following the NFL this season. The season started in the worst way possible with Ray Rice’s domestic violence incident, and quickly got worse with Adrian Peterson’s child abuse. And let’s not forget about Greg Hardy or Ray McDonald -- these men’s actions were a huge disappointment.

I could go on for days about all the problems Goodell has caused in the league and all the damage he is doing, but I don't have the space and frankly there’s not much more to say than that Goodell horribly handled the Ray Rice case, and will single-handedly drive the NFL to the ground at this rate. I hear the NBA is fun to watch.
